Zeke holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from UCLA. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in Hispanic Studies and History from the University of Pennsylvania. He also studied history and literature at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Zeke's research centers on 20th and 21st-century Latin American literature and film. His interests include art cinema, film festivals, cosmopolitanism, metafiction, the novella, and transnational exchange.

In addition to his academic work, Zeke is an avid hiker and skier.
